Description

Wrecking Crew is a classic action and platformer game from 1985, developed and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In this game, you will control Mario wielding a wooden hammer. The goal of the game is to try to demolish walls and fences to stop bad guys and creatures.

Gameplay

The player controls Mario (or Luigi in two-player mode) and attempts to destroy all specified objects using a large hammer across 100 levels. Mario cannot jump due to the weight of the hammer. The player can select any level to start the game from the title screen. Each level of the game field is divided into an invisible grid, with each space capable of containing one object. Objects include: destructible walls, pillars, and ladders; indestructible barrels and ladders; bombs that destroy all connected destructible objects; and various enemies that Mario must avoid.

The game ends when all lives are lost or after completing 60 levels, depending on what happens first. The game can also be paused at any time and must be paused if Mario becomes trapped in a barrel. Since Mario cannot jump, the player must work out the optimal order for destroying objects - for example, if the player destroys a ladder too early, the wall may become unreachable, and therefore the player cannot complete the level.
